It should have been a sure thing that Australian love for the little tike and the easy availability of right-hand drive, the 2019 Suzuki Jimny will land to Australia.
Accompanied by a set of leaked images from an internal presentation, we first got a clear look of 2019 model, with a new-gen Jimny spied testing in revealing camouflage almost a year ago.
New models will be offered with a new 1.5 liter petrol engine, 660 mil and tiny engine tiny cars, comply with the ‘kei’ regulations. According to the company’s Japanese website this non-turbo engine produces 75 kW of power and 130 Nm and the new model will come in at between 1,090 and 1135 kg.
Further details such as fuel consumption and acceleration, are still to be revealed. Likewise, the company has not confirmed which transmissions we’ll be offered in Australia, although the same five-speed manual and four-speed auto options offered overseas are likely.
